“Three cows can give a family green energy for a year.”
Following the entry of the Antwerp investment company Ackermans & van Haaren (AvH), Biolectric is preparing itself for the commercial roll-out of biogas installations throughout Europe. To give you an idea: the production is multiplied by five. Not illogical if you know that there are at least 200 million cows in Europe. “Farmers themselves cannot do much about the CO2 emissions of their cows, but a biogas plant can. Climate is of course a hot topic at the moment.”
Quickly earned back.
But what about the costs? A small installation already costs 100,000 euros, which is the same to a new tractor. "But farmers will already earn back their investment in 4 or 5 years," says Jans reassuringly.
User friendly.
Furthermore, biogas plants are easier and quicker to install. "Our end product is a 20-foot container with all pumps and electronic controls included." This ready-made package is therefore fully installed and ready to use in just a few days. For comparison: installing a traditional biogas installation takes approximately 2 years.
