Will we be heating our homes with gas from vegetable, fruit and garden waste in the future? The surprising answer: that is actually already happening today! Kanaal Z went to Beerse where the Kempische waste intermunicipal company IOK invested in an energy conversion park. The green waste from 500,000 people is converted into biogas and then injected into the natural gas network.

How much biogas can we produce with all the Flemish green waste?
And can it play a role in tackling the current shortages in the market?

You will receive the answers in this report from, among others, Kris De Wit from Gas.be, Jonathan De Witte from IOK and Sam Tessens from Biogas-e.
